TRUMP;Professor of Electrical Engineering;Massachusetts Institute of Technology )〕 Trump was noted for developing rotational radiation therapy.〔 Together with Dr. Robert J. Van de Graaff he developed one of the first million-volt X-ray generators.〔 ==Early life== Trump was born the younger son of German immigrants Elizabeth Christ and Friedrich Drumpf (1869-1918). Following the early death of his father, Trump was financed through college, from bachelor to doctorate, by his brother Fred Trump, a New York real estate developer. Initially, they tried working together, building houses, but John was a perfectionist who found it hard to compromise on his designs and accept commercial deadlines. The brothers dissolved their partnership and John switched to research in electrical engineering. Trump received his B.S. (EE) from Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (1929), his M.S. (physics) from Columbia University, and his D.Sc. (EE) from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) (1933). He was a professor at MIT in 1936-1973.
